Students in Grades 3 to 6 will be asked to bring their own iPad to school as part of their everyday learning tool.
Technology plays a huge role within our learning programs. Having ongoing access to technology will help your child develop greater independence, increase engagement and develop skills required to thrive in the 21st century. Over the past few years, Stage 3 have being trialling the bring your own device (BYOD) program. From this we have discovered strengths and weaknesses within this program.
This trial brought to the forefront complications of multiple devices and brands connecting to the network, differing apps per platform and projection of work from devices to the interactive board. From student and staff feedback during this trial period, unanimously, it was evident that iPads proved to be the most efficient and beneficial device to derive our student's learning.
Student iPad contracts and cyber safety will be part of the bring your own iPad program. A list of apps required will be provided to parents before the end of the school year.
